Remember when you were a kid and walked down the stairs to see all the presents under the tree on Christmas morning?!  That is the feeling when I see the FabFitFun Box on my porch!!  I joined using an influencers code last summer and I have never regretted it.  If you have been curious about ordering a subscription box, here is a complete guide and honest review!!

A subscription box for me is so exciting.  There is a reason why half of the toys at Target are now surprise bags.  There is nothing like the excitement of opening something up, knowing it will be good, but not knowing what you are going to get!!  If you have no idea what a subscription box is, first of all, where have you been?  Second of all, you have to find out!  A FabFitFun subscriiption box is a quarterly subscription, where you receive a box four times a year.  Every box contains over $200 worth of “fun” surprises from home decor to fashion and beauty, and so much more!!  Each item is a full size product and everything is name brand. I don’t know about you but I am totally influenced by the influencers.  I like to stick to my beauty routine (a bit), but I love trying out new products they recommend, so for me this is perfect.  It lets me try out new name brand products for an amazing price!

To get started you choose what type of membership you want.  There are two types of memberships:  seasonal and annual.

I am a season member but I’m going to switch to an annual because there are a few more perks (I’ll get to in a minute).  The seasonal membership is only $49.99 every quarter (“Wait you just said you get $200 of products and it’s only $49.99), YES only $49.99!!  Once you subscribe your subscription renews every quarter and you are sent a new box (you can choose to cancel at any time).  The annual member pays an upfront fee of $179.99 (that’s only $44.99/box).  You still receive four boxes during the year but here come the perks I mentioned….An annual member receives their boxes first.  If you are an influencer who has a code for your followers (I’m not there yet, sorry guys, but I do have a few free sample boxes I’m able to give you…I’ll talk more about that soon too!) then you are going to want to have your box early in the season to review it and more than likely recommend it (not because you are getting a percentage from it, which I’m not at the moment), but because you actually love it!!  Also, annual members can customize their options first so they get first dibs on some of the products.  All members can customize to an extent before your box ships and choose a few of the products they would like (takes an aspect of the surprise out of it, but you are also getting exactly what you want).  I never remember to customize my box, so I am always surprised.   At any rate, I think you can’t go wrong with either subscription you choose!

Enough about subscriptions, lets get to the fun part!  The box itself is so much fun for me!  It is so pretty, always fun vibrant colors and cute unique patterns, that I can not throw it away.  I usually upcycle it as a storage container for something in my house.  The summer box is being used right now in my RV to hold magazines!!

On top of the box is the FabFitFun Magazine that always has a “What’s in the Box” section, where you see all of the choices you had, some descriptions of the products, and the retail value of the product.  This is where every time I say, “next time I should customize it or do an add on” (you can choose to add on products for a low price during selection) because even though I always love my products, there are always some that I am bummed I missed out on!!  The magazine also has articles related to the products itself.  For example, the summer box came with a necklace called, “The Giving Keys” and it is actually a company in LA that has created jobs for the homeless.  If you never order a box, I would highly recommend checking out thegivingkeys.com because it is such a great purpose.  In all honesty though, I never read the magazine first (let’s get to the products)!!

Your box is full of nine full size surprise items!  Here is the list of my summer items and the retail value, and my honest opinion (remember I am not getting anything from writing this review!!)

Draper James Straw Bag with Floral Scarf  – $75  I absolutely love Reese Witherspoon (Reese if you’re reading this, contact me…let’s be friends :-), so I was so excited to get one of her bags.  It did not disappoint!  It is so cute and feminine.  The little floral scarf has matched so many of my outfits and the bag is a perfect size for summer essentials.

HydoPeptide Moisture Reset Face Oil – $120  Remember I said I’m a sucker for trying new products the influencers recommend.  This was one of the products one of my fav influencers  recommended, but when I went to order, I could never pull the trigger because the price tag was just a little too much for me (I’m lying, it was way too much for me).  So I was so excited to get this and try it out.  I love it.  My face gets pretty dry in the summer and this has helped so much.  I’m also very sensitive and I’ve had no issues!!  Now that I’m hooked, email me if you see ever see this go on sale!

The Giving Keys Mini Key Necklace – $45  So this was something that I didn’t appreciate until I read the magazine back story.  The necklace itself it so cute.  It is a silver chain with a small key on it, personalized with “believe” on it.  It is not something I would have necessarily bought for myself (I’m a gold girl), but knowing that it was made and packaged to help bring jobs to the homeless in LA, I would fully support and buy it again.

Zoe Ayla Ice Roller – $30  This has been a household favorite.  Honestly, I wish I never showed my three girls, because we all fight over it at night!!  It is a roller that you put in the freezer and roll it all over your face.  It reduces puffy eyes and rejuventates tired skin!  I love it so much, I will be ordering more for the entire family (I don’t want to share mine)!

MakeupDrop Hybrid Makeup Applicator – $20  This is a makeup applicator that features a silicone side and latex-free sponge.  I always watched makeup tutorials and asked, “do you really need a sponge to apply your makeup, I’ve been using my fingers for years?”  Well girls, yes, yes you do!!  The makeup goes on so much smoother with the sponge.  I’m loving this one!  Just be sure to clean them properly because if you don’t, you are sure to break out.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask 6 Pack – $25  Here is another product that I should have never showed my girls.  Zac, if you find me hiding in my closet with my ice roller and my eye patches, it is because these are really too good to share!!  The patches feature hyaluronic acid, aloe leaf extract, and lavender oil to hydrate the skin under your eyes. I’ve used them twice, and I’m not sure if they are making any physical differences yet (too early to tell), but they feel amazing before bed!!

Isaac Mizrahi Loves xo, Sienna Vase – $28  I swear this is one of those products, where I saw it and thought, someone must be spying on me because it is a vase dipped with a splash of color and the color (light pink) is the exact, (light pink is so broad) EXACT shade of pink I just added to my bedroom!!  It matches my sheets to a T (when you say that, do you spell it out, tee? or write a T?  Is it capital T? or lowercase t?…my sister will know.  Tara send me your edits.)  Anyway, so cute!

Riddle Oil Original Roll On – $50 This perfume mixes with your personal chemistry to create a scent that is unique to you.  When I saw that, I thought, “no way.”  But, I have tried it on myself and my three girls and it really does smell different on each of us.  Crazy!?  Someone tell me how that works.  This was something that I never would have bought for myself considering the price (and I was a skeptic), but I really love it.

Spongelle Coconut Verbena Hand Cream – $18  This blend of hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and macadamia seed oils is so soft and smells incredible!!  My hands have been dry since Covid, because I wash them so much and this is really helping!!

My total value was $393.00 and I paid $49.99 plus shipping!!  That is incredible and I honestly use every one of the products.  Some of the other products I wish I added on were:  The lifestyle Co. Beach Mist – $42, Drybar Prep Rally Prime and Prep Detangler – $23, Silked Satin Pillow Sleeve – $29.50 (has anyone tried these?  I’ve heard they are great for bed head and your skin), TOMS Sydney Sunglasses – $58, Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil – $16, and so many more!!  I swear next time I am going to customize and add on (when it’s time, someone remind me)!!

If all this hasn’t convinced you to try out a subscription, I have a few FREE Starter boxes I can send you. Remember I am not getting paid or I do not earn anything by you trying the starter box…yet (FabFitFun, I would love to represent your company :-), but readers, no pressure on you to buy one.  I am really doing this because i love it myself!!  Back to the starter box. A starter box is valued at $75.  It comes with 3-4 full sized products to try before subscribing.  Again you get the box free, just pay shipping.  You will get your box and be enrolled as a member.  If you do want a membership cancel within 21 days of receiving your starter box, if you do not cancel you will be sent a seasonal box.  You can cancel memberships at anytime.  If you’d like to try it out email me @ rachelmentoblog@gmail.com and I will have one sent to you!!

Thank you all for reading and your continued support!  I’m sorry this took so long to come out, I’ve been saying I was going to write the FabFitFun box blog since June, but at least I got it out before the Fall box arrives (someone remind me to customize)!!
